Fully Managed Remote Server Backup
- Daily backup of your Linux server.
- Backups stored on secure firewalled remote servers invisible to all but selected IP addresses.
- The backups server connects to your server to retrieve data. This is more secure than other backup services which merely provide some FTP or rsync space and your server connects to the remote. If your server gets compromised then the intruder does not gain access to your backups and cannot delete your backup data!
- A separate backup is taken of your databases to ensure data consistency.
- Backups are retained according to your requirements. We normally suggest keeping 4 weeks worth of daily backups with a further 4 weekly backups beyond those 4 weeks, thus providing 8 weeks of backup data. Database backups can have a different rentention policy to your disk backups.
- Incremental system minimises bandwidth and disk usage by transferring only files that have changed.
- Your server continues to run as normal whilst backups are taking place.
- Can work in conjunction with any local backups you have (e.g. second disk in same server).
- Fully managed - backups installed and configured to your requirements then adjusted if your needs change.
- Access to our 24/7 SOS Response telephone number for restoring files.
- Backup logs checked each working day.
Monthly per-server cost depends on average disk space usage on our backup server:
- £40 for first 20GB (minimum order)
- £5 per additional 10GB.
Restoration work will be by second-level team and is charged at:
- Restoring files and directories during our office hours - free of charge.
- Restoring files and directories outside of our office hours - £90 per hour with 30 minute minimum.
- Complex restorations, e.g. restoring to a new server where configuration files need to be reconciled - £60 per hour during office hours, £90 per hour outside office hours.
Office hours are 9am-6pm UK time Monday-Friday except UK public holidays.
